A funny thing happened when I started this Newsletter (in retrospect it shouldn’t be that surprising). I have had a TON of ConTech companies reach out to me to try their solution. And I’ve checked a bunch of them out. (Done demos, etc.) Most of them don’t live up to the hype (at least yet). And I won’t share anything with you all unless I personally think it’s legit.
Meet Roger.
I was approached by one of the Roger co-founders a couple of months ago and I immediately saw promise in the platform. It was a perfect solution to solve a couple of my biggest struggles. These also happen to be hacks number 3 & 4 in my 25 Hacks to Win as a Young Construction Professional in 2023 list.
The Roger founders make the claim to be “The only platform built to help construction managers do tedious, day-to-day work faster: tracking tasks, sending emails, writing notes, uploading documents to Procore, and more. We help you and your team rise above the chaos and focus on what’s most important.”
After using it and being a part of their Beta program over the last couple of months, I can state without a shadow of a doubt that they are achieving this vision and building something that has real potential to change the way Construction Managers manage their emails, tasks, notes, and documents.

Spent coffee grounds (SCG) are the coffee industry’s biggest byproduct, and they’re filling up landfills worldwide.
Looking to keep SCG out of landfills, where they produce more carbon dioxide and methane, scientists from RMIT University in Australia developed a concrete that’s 30 percent stronger when infused with SCG.
Not only could this innovation keep coffee grounds out of landfills while making concrete stronger, it could also curtail the environmental degradation that comes from sourcing natural sand, the fine particle aggregate found in concrete.
