Who, What, When, Where, & WHY? - CM Mentor #0 | Contech New Releases
Hey! Happy Saturday! Matt here.
Welcome to the Construction Curiosities newsletter. Especially to all the 37 New Subscribers.
This weekly Newsletter explores my Curiosities about the Construction Industry. It's meant to make you think, smile, and become a better, more well-informed Construction Professional.
Summary
This week we will look at:
One Podcast: CM Mentor Episode Zero
One Article: Jan 2023 Contech New Releases
One Quote: The Delicate Balance of Mentorship
One Meme: Tetris’d Construction Site
One Podcast
One Podcast this week is Episode Zero of the CM Mentors Podcast. If you’ve missed all my previous announcements, it is a joint project between myself and Kyle Grandell, CEO of Dell Management. The Podcast's vision is to be an informative, entertaining, and interactive experience for construction managers by construction managers.
Each week we will have an Industry Expert Guest and have a conversation about a specific topic. It will be a split between a normal Podcast discussion with the guest, Kyle, & me and an open Q&A with the Live Audience.
Check out Episode 0 where we give more details on the Who, What, When, Where, & especially the Why. We even had a couple of live audience guest questions.
The plan is to also have these podcasts available as audio pods on all the major podcast platforms (Apple, Spotify, Stitcher, Google, etc.). I’m still working on getting that set up, so this week your only option is to look at our ugly mugs on video.
In reality, I just ran out of time this week. I have a day job you know!
Artwork Contest
Any good podcast must have an even better Logo/ Podcast Artwork. That’s why we are reaching out to YOU. Our community and supporters! I can dabble in Canva but I’m by no means a graphic artist.
We wanted to Announce a Podcast Artwork Contest with the Winner receiving a 1-year subscription membership to the Paid Construction Yeti Crew (currently valued at $99.99). In addition, ALL entries will be awarded a 1 month CY Crew pass. This gets you access to the Live Podcast recordings and the ability to participate in the Guest Q&A. (more info on CY Crew pass below)
Here’s a media (Headshots & Logos) dropbox folder for your use in making the Artwork. Go crazy. Be creative.

Note to self… I need to get a new headshot that’s not too suit & tie…
Upcoming Shows
We are scheduling out the guests right now and more info to come, but I am excited to say we have some heavy hitters in the industry. Some folks that are making some waves in the industry and share the desire to give back through events like this.
Confirmed Guest - Live Recording Schedule:
Episode 1 - January 30th at 4:00 pm CST - Angelo Suntres (sorry for butchering your name in Ep 0!)
Author of “The Human Side of Construction” book: How to Ensure a Successful, Sustainable and Profitable Career as a Contractor, Project Manager, Estimator or Superintendent.
Episode 2 - February 3rd at 2:00 pm CST - Shelly Peterson
Building your Personal Brand - Standing out in a Micro Attention World
Want a ticket to be in the Live Audience and participate in the Guest Q&A?
Paid Construction Yeti Crew Members get access to attend upcoming Live Podcast Recordings & ask your Curiosities in the Guest Q&A. (like you saw in the Episode 0 recording!)
The plan is to release 1 podcast Free each Saturday morning in conjunction with the Construction Curiosities Newsletter. The Live recordings will eventually level off at 1 per week, but we are wanting to build a backlog of episodes. So the first couple weeks will be double your value with 2 Live recordings each.
So what does this mean? Well, early supporters get more bang for their buck as they get twice the amount of Live Shows in the first month!
Where else can you get access to at least 4 industry professionals a month in an Interactive Educational platform? All for the cost of a cheeseburger and fries!
To the company leaders out there: Want to grab a seat for 2 or more of your folks?
Sign up your whole department and just write it off.
I’ll even give you a 100% money-back guarantee on it. If you subscribe and it doesn’t live up to your expectations. Just email me and I’ll refund you 100%, no questions asked.
