Have you ever said no to a project?
Written by Maren Harlin, Account Executive at Mobilization Funding
From executives to entry-level employees, knowing when to say no is one of the hardest skills to master. We’ve conditioned ourselves to think that more is better, bigger is better. What’s really true, is the fact that the most successful operators you run into are not playing the “yes man” game. They are strategic in the endeavors they take on and even more so in the one’s that they don’t.
Efficiently managing your time, business, family, social life and finances hinges on the ability to say no when necessary. So why aren’t you doing this with your business?
In construction and manufacturing where anything can turn on a dime, it’s tempting to take on every project that comes your way. However, this can lead to:
Cash flow deficits
Delays in paying vendors
Burnt-out employees
Increased stress
Every good NO, makes room for a better YES.
Thanks, Maren for that simple yet important reminder!
Does your company have a “Go/ No Go” evaluation process for New Projects?
If not, this is your sign to implement one for 2025 and stop taking on the wrong projects. (or at least hopefully reduce them…)
